Minamoto Yoritomo (源 頼朝) is the son of Minamoto Yoshitomo and the older brother of Minamoto Yoshitsune. He is the founder of the Kamakura Shogunate.

AppearanceEdit

Yoritomo is quite old and has long black hair, he is usually seen wearing a black armor.

PersonalityEdit

Yoritomo seems to be a calm and quite person. He has great respect for his father, Yoshitomo, and even raised an army to avenged for his father's death. It's also shown in Genji: Days of the Blade that Yoritomo is very kind and always care about his brother Yoshitsune.

PlotEdit

Dawn of the SamuraiEdit

Yoritomo is one of the counter-force againts the Heishi, he gained power in Kamakura and schemed to avenged for his father's death. It was mentoned in Chapter 2 that he was raising an army and was preparing to attack the Heishi in Kyoto.

In the ending scene, it can be seen that Yoritomo's force lauched a full attack on the Heishi and succeeded in driving them out of Kyoto. Yoritomo then moved on to create a land centered around the Samurai.
